2020 Baseball Stadium Tour -- Goodyear Ballpark

When planning spring training options this year, the hubby wanted to see Goodyear, home of the Reds and the Indians spring training. The Reds were in town so a trip to Goodyear became the last spring training game of the trip. We had plans to see ASU tonight but they got rained out.

Goodyear Ballpark is one of the more distant ballparks from Phoenix but it is still within an hour. Plus it really doesn't seem that far away.

The Major League Stadium is across the street from the training complex. So unlike many of the complexes where you can see the players practicing and minor league games in the same vicinity of the big league game, Goodyear keeps them separate.

The ballpark is really nice. We would definitely go back to Goodyear and sit with all the senior citizens. Many of the fans were older and it was a smaller crowd. Not sure if COVID-19 or the potential rain kept people away but there weren't as many people there as yesterday in Tempe.

They highlighted food from both the Indians and the Reds as many combined ballparks do. They had a Cleveland Polish Dog which was a Polish dog covered in BBQ sauce and cole slaw with some waffle fries. It was messy but very good. The hubby went with chicken tenders as usual.

We got to see Joey Votto play. It is always nice to see the big names play.

We would definitely go back to Goodyear. It ranks right up there with Surprise and Peoria.
