1184. Go to the Phoenix Police Museum

I didn't plan this trip very well. I didn't plan anything for Sunday when we got to Arizona figuring we would sleep in and lounge around the AirBnB. I didn't take in account the time change so even though it was 7 AM in Arizona, we were thinking it was 9 AM. I had to figure out something to do Sunday morning so I moved mini golf to Sunday and then had to figure out what to do this morning. After some search on TripAdvisor, I discovered the Phoenix Police Museum. Knowing the hubby likes anything to do with police, fire, and rescue this would be a good activity. Besides it was a short drive from the AirBnB.

The Phoenix Police Museum is located in the Historic Phoenix City Hall. There is an entrance off 2nd street. Parking is a bit difficult and you may end up walking a bit. There are signs directing you to the museum.  It is free but donations are suggested. There is also a little gift shop.

The museum highlights the history of the department from 1881 to modern day. It is not a large museum but it makes good use of the space.

There is the first jail rock.

You can see how policing, uniforms, and equipment has changed over the years.

There is section dedicated to women officers.

And a room solely for fallen officers.

If you need a rainy day activity, this is great. It is also a short walk from Chase Field and the Arena so you can visit the museum prior to catching a game.
