I jokingly told the hubby that if he wanted his Napoleon
Kringle, we could pick it up on the way home and then stop at Kewpee’s for
lunch. At first he wasn’t too keen on the idea but then he changed his mind.
Dad has raved about Kewpee Burgers for years. He grew up in
Racine and love these burgers. The hubby likes a good burger and said he wants
to try one. We really never had a reason go Racine to try these burgers.
Kewpee’s is this little diner that has a limited menu. It is
very kitschy. The burgers are nothing special but they aren’t bad. The burgers are initially made into
“meatballs” and then the cook flattens them on the grill into a burger.
Unlike many burger joints, burgers at Kewpee’s are served on
real plates and sodas in plastic glasses. Our fries were still served in paper
boats but I really like the real plates.
