We always see a billboard on 41 for Nueske's bacon. We usually never get to Wittenberg so when Heather was like wanna stop on our Shawano County Library Road Trip, I was like it is on the bucket list. That sealed the deal and we turned in the parking lot.
Nueske's Meats is your typical meat store with additional grocery items. It is a very crowded. There is a meat counter when you can order their famous bacon, beef sticks, hot dogs, and other fresh cut or homemade meats. I did ended up getting a pound of bacon and some beef sticks.
Nueske's also has a wide variety of jellies, jams, seasonings, and similar products. Heather picked up some popcorn and a few other items.
Because of our time crunch, we did not have a whole lot of time to explore but there was definitely a lot of good foods hidden the store.
The bacon is good. We prefer Haens bacon. However, I would get it again if we are ever up that way. The beef sticks were mild but very good.
If you ever find yourself up near Wittenberg, take the detour off of Hwy 29 and go check it out. There is something for everyone.
